It’s a great spot for a family day out. While you’re there, you can hear stories about its history and past residents, do puzzles, arts and crafts and dress up as a lord or lady. There’s also a tearoom where you can enjoy hot and cold drinks and snacks.

Visit Priory Church - One of the longest parish churches in the country, Priory Church is a national hidden gem. Its captivating architecture alone makes it well worth a visit, but you can also opt for a tower tour where you’ll climb 176 steps to the top of the priory for panoramic views of the city.

Hit the beach - There are stunning beaches in Christchurch, including the sandy Avon Beach, south-facing pebble beach Hengistbury Head, Mudeford Spit Beach - a popular pick for dog walkers, and Highcliffe Beach - popular with swimmers and surfers.

Take a peaceful stroll - Walking trails are a great shout for those who want to take in Christchurch's beauty while getting their steps in. The 4.5 km Hengistbury Head Circular is a popular choice for hiking and walking. If you fancy a challenge, try the Christchurch to Ringwood trail beside the river Avon - around 15 km. One of the shortest routes is the Hengisbury Head and Wick walking trail - which is around 3 km.

While you’re in town, take a trip to nearby destinations Bournemouth and Poole which offer more fun-filled activities and attractions.
