How to get to Chessington World of Adventures?

Looking to escape the city for a fun day out? Chessington World of Adventures is a well-connected destination, and save 1/3 OFF when you travel by train to the resort.

Travelling by train

You can catch a train to Chessington World of Adventures from many stations. Popular routes to Chessington South – the nearest station to the resort – are from Leatherhead, Guildford, Epsom and Woking. Explore our flexible range of ticket types to find the right one for your journey. You can get cheap train tickets to Chessington by booking early or going off-peak, and if you have a Family and Friends Railcard or you’re travelling in a group, you could save even more.

Travelling from London

Trains from London Waterloo to Chessington South take just 35 minutes. Regular services also run from Clapham Junction and Wimbledon, so if you’re travelling through London and changing trains, these are the stations to aim for. From Chessington South, it’s just a 10-minute walk to get to the resort.

Chessington South is located within zone 6 of the London travel zones, so you can travel there using a London Travelcard. You can also get there using your Oyster card and contactless, but bear in mind that you won’t be able to save 1/3 OFF when you travel that way.

Things to do in Chessington World of Adventures

Jam-packed full of rides and entertainment for kids and adults alike, Chessington World of Adventures might just be the perfect family day out. There are forty rides and attractions dotted across 10 themed lands, from Wild Asia to Pirate’s Cove. Thrill seekers will enjoy soaring through the skies with their legs dangling beneath them on Vampire, while Dragon’s Fury will send you through dizzying twists and turns, dips and dives.

Get set to get wet on mini-log flume River Rafts or take things up a notch on Tiger Rock – an exhilarating log flume with views across the tiger enclosure. For more scenic views hop on the Jungle Bus, or for a nautical adventure on dry land, jump aboard Griffin’s Galleon and ride the waves back and forth.

Children and parents alike can join their favourite characters on The Gruffalo River Ride, taking a trip through the deep dark wood as the story of The Gruffalo magically unfolds.

Little adventurers can have the time of their lives in Dragon’s Playhouse – a huge soft play area - and in Temple of Mayhem where a giant ball pit awaits them.

As well as rides, Chessington has its very own zoo with over 1,000 animals, plus a SEA LIFE centre! Enjoy animal shows, zoo meet and greets, and the chance to feed some of the animals.

Food, drink, and shops

Whether you’re after a sit-down meal, a quick snack, a caffeine boost or a sweet treat, there are plenty of places to eat in Chessington World of Adventure, with options for all sorts of dietary requirements.

Sink your teeth into a succulent burger from The Vampire Burger Kitchen or enjoy slow-cooked meat from Smokehouse BBQ & Bar. Pizza Pasta and Just Chicken do exactly what they say on the tin, while veggies, vegans and meat eaters alike will love the menu of Not Dogs, burgers, fries and sides from Vegan Street Dogs.

Grab some grrrreat tasting snacks from Tiger Treats or one of the many snack spots around the park and wash it all down with a Costa coffee from The Coffee Shack.

Time to pick up a souvenir? Pay a visit to Adventure Point Gift Shop for an exciting array of souvenirs, treats and gifts, or take a look in The Gruffalo Gift Shop for some exclusive goodies featuring your kids’ favourite characters. The SEA LIFE Shop has water toys, fact-filled books and more on offer, while Explorer Supplies has all the essentials for young adventurers. If you don’t get a chance to visit one of the gift shops, you can also visit their online gift shop.

Places to stay in Chessington
