Engineering work will take place between Staines and Windsor & Eton Riverside in March.

Services will be amended as follows:

Saturday

• London Waterloo to Reading services will be revised to depart London Waterloo earlier. These services will be diverted between Clapham Junction and Virginia Water and will call additionally at Surbiton, Weybridge, Addlestone and Chertsey.
• London Waterloo to Weybridge via Staines services will terminate at Hounslow.
• Additional services will run between London Waterloo and Hounslow via Richmond.
• Buses will run between Hounslow and Virginia Water via Staines.
• London Waterloo to Windsor services will be diverted after Twickenham and will terminate at Hounslow.
• Buses will run between Hounslow and Windsor via Staines.

• London Waterloo to Basingstoke stopping services and London Waterloo to Alton services will be revised and will run combined to Woking where the train will divide. These services will call additionally at West Byfleet.

Sunday

• A revised service will run between London Waterloo and Hounslow via Brentford and Richmond.
• Buses will run between Hounslow and Ascot via Staines. (These buses will not stop at Longcross).
• A revised service will run between Ascot and Reading.
• Buses will run between Hounslow and Windsor via Staines.
• Buses will run between Hounslow and Woking via Staines.
• The afternoon and evening London Waterloo to Kingston via Hounslow services will run all day and will terminate at Hounslow.

Monday to Friday

• London Waterloo to Windsor services will terminate at Staines.
• Buses will run between Staines and Windsor.

St Denys to Fareham closure, Monday 14 to Sunday 20 April

Engineering work will take place between St Denys and Fareham from Monday 14 to Sunday 20 April.

Services will be amended as follows:

Monday 14 to Friday 18 April

• Portsmouth to Southampton Central stopping services will not run.
• Buses will run between Fareham and Southampton Central.
• A revised service will run between Portsmouth and Fareham.
• Winchester to Southampton Central stopping services will call additionally at Swaythling and St Denys.
• Bournemouth to Winchester stopping services will call additionally at St Denys and Swaythling.
• Salisbury to Romsey via Southampton Central services will terminate at Southampton Central.
  Passengers for Chandler’s Ford should travel on the diverted Great Western Railway services.

Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 April

• Portsmouth to Southampton Central stopping services will not run.
• Buses will run between Fareham and Southampton Central.
• A revised service will run between Portsmouth and Fareham.

Starting in February, electric vehicle charging points at some of our stations will be replaced and updated: 

• Basingstoke – from Tuesday 4  

• Farnborough – from Tuesday 11 

• Fleet – from Monday 17 

• Haslemere – from Thursday 20  

• Wokingham – from Monday 24 

• Andover – from Thursday 27  

This will include installing more modern and durable chargers – existing points were installed in 2019. 

The work will be completed in Spring 2025. During the work, it will not be possible to charge electric vehicles at these stations. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Engineering work affecting routes between Reading and London, Sunday 23 March

South Western Railway (SWR) and Great Western Railway (GWR) services between Reading and London will be impacted by engineering work on Sunday 23 March.

The line between Ascot and Staines will be closed due to planned engineering work, with buses replacing SWR services. There will be no direct trains between Reading and London Waterloo all day.

Late notice engineering work will take place between Reading and London Paddington, with no GWR services between these two stations until approximately 0920 on Sunday morning.

Customers seeking to travel on GWR services to London Paddington, as an alternative to SWR services into London Waterloo, are advised to travel after 0920. Alternatively, customers are advised to use Elizabeth Line and London Underground services.
