Temporary Changes to Parking at Salisbury Station from June 2024

The works are planned to take approximately one year. The duration of the works is determined by the need to keep part of the forecourt open at any one time for ongoing critical use such as by taxis, blue badge bays, the Stonehenge bus and rail replacement bus services.

Wiltshire Council is facilitating 126 temporary, additional spaces for railway customers within the current Central Car Park, which are clearly signed including vehicular and pedestrian access. The spaces are an approximately seven-minute walk to or from the station so please allow sufficient time to get to the station for your train

These are existing short-term spaces which will be reclassified for long-term railway customer usage for a temporary period. They will be available until the new additional station car park off Fisherton Street (next to the Royal Mail depot) opens later in the year.

The spaces are charged at £9.90 per day which is very similar to the current rate charged at the railway station. The car park will continue to be managed by Wiltshire Council. Charges apply Monday - Saturday 8am - 6pm Including Bank Holidays and Sunday 10am - 4pm.

Customers can pay by cash or via the MIPermit parking app (car payments at the machines are not currently available) – more details can be found on the council’s website at: https://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/parking-information .

Yes, the same number of blue badge bays on the forecourt have been retained. At present, these are located in front of the taxi rank at the station entrance/exit and are clearly signed.

No, it is not possible to open a new northern pedestrian entrance to the station, even for a temporary period.

Please do not attempt to access the station through the area bounded by the train depot and the Rail Club building, as there is no public right of way through this area.

Please also do not attempt to park or drop people off here. Those that park here may be fined. The majority of the spaces in this area are used by railway staff including train crew, and spaces taken up by non-railway staff could result in trains being delayed or cancelled.
