If you’re looking for free things to do in Windsor with the family, the Windsor & Royal Borough Museum is a perfect rainy-day activity for all ages. Located within The Guildhall, a Grade l listed building, the 70+ year-old collection features everything from transport and aviation to homelife and leisure, providing a fascinating insight into life in the 1900s.
Situated within the grounds of Windsor Castle, access to the spectacular St George’s Chapel is included with your castle tickets. Warwick train station is located in the middle of the historic town centre, so getting here by public transport is a piece of cake. From the castle to the Fun Park, there are so many activities to keep you entertained.

If you find dungeons a little too creepy but still want to learn about Warwick’s history, head to Market Hall Museum. Housed in a fine seventeenth century building, the museum tells the story of Warwickshire from past to present. You’ll find plenty of fascinating artefacts, from ancient skeletons to historic costume displays.
As one of the largest churches in Britain, the rich heritage of St Mary’s church makes it a popular tourist attraction. Offering a place of worship for over 1,000 years, the church has a stunning architectural beauty both inside and out. During your visit, take part in some choir singing or join a guided tour to admire the various rooms and towers of the historic building.
If theme parks are your jam, then a visit to The Fun Park should be on the cards. This permanent fairground offers everything you need for a fun day out, from enjoyable kids’ rides to nostalgic refreshment stations serving up candy floss, pick ‘n mix and more.

The Peacock Garden, Warwick Castle
Fancy some fresh air? The Peacock Garden is located on the stunning grounds of Warwick Castle and offers plenty of natural open space. Designed in the nineteenth century, the park’s impressive decor includes sculptures, manicured hedges and a grand fountain, making it one of the prettiest outdoor areas in Warwick. The best part of all is the live peacocks roaming the grounds – why not try and snap a selfie with one?
