Where and when is Christmas in Bournemouth held?

Christmas in Bournemouth covers an area of 300,000 sq ft, spanning across Bournemouth Town Square, the historic Bournemouth Lower Gardens and Bournemouth beachfront. Bournemouth Square can be found at Bournemouth BH2 5LY.

Christmas events in Bournemouth run from 14 November 2024 (from 6pm) to 1 January 2025. With loads of time to visit, make sure you take note of the opening times - general admission opens 11am to 11pm every day (except Christmas and Boxing Day). The best part of all is that entry is free.

How do I get to the event in Bournemouth?

Travelling by train to Bournemouth

Bournemouth Square is easily accessible with SWR. The nearest station to the Christmas event is Bournemouth Station, which is served with regular trains from stations such as Southampton Central, Poole, Weymouth and Woking. Bournemouth station is located approx. 20-minute walk away from Bournemouth Square, and is accessible by bus numbers 22, 17, 12 and 6, all which take approximately 10-15 minutes.

In Bournemouth Square you’ll find the Alpine Markets with over 40 chalet huts of local traders and food stalls. The markets offer a wide variety of goods, from homemade presents and traditional gifts to luxury hot chocolate and tasty treats. The market stalls open from 11am until 8pm daily (7pm on Sundays).

Get your skates on at Bournemouth’s largest outdoor ice rink located at Bournemouth’s historic Lower Gardens. Whether a newbie or a pro, you’ll love Skate Ice Rink. The rink has 100% real ice, allowing you to skate smoothly and enjoy the views of the Christmas Tree Skate Path around you. The rink is open from 14 November to 5 January 2025. Tickets cost £15 for adults and £12.50 for those aged 12 and under. Family tickets are also available.
