What to expect at this year’s Wandsworth Panto
Get ready for the Wandsworth pantomime to kick off the Christmas activities. This year’s choice is a firm favourite - The Little Mermaid. A modern reimagining of Hans Christian Anderson’s tale, expect a combination of laughter and magic as the story comes to life on stage.
This year there are both matinee performances and relaxed performances plus lots of opportunities to catch a performance with shows beginning from 10:30am and running throughout the day until 16:30pm.
Relaxed performances are a popular option each year as they allow everyone to feel relaxed and enjoy the show. These pantomimes use adaptive lighting and special effects. Low house lighting helps reduce anxiety in audience members who may react sensitively to bright lights. There will also be a ‘chill out room’ available throughout the show for those who may require a quiet space. Relaxed performances take place on Sunday 15 December at 10:30am and Thursday 19 December at 13:30pm.
This year over 500 tickets for The Little Mermaid are being offered at a discounted price and made available to those on means tested benefits and targeted concessions. This is done via the Access For All Scheme, which gives everyone the opportunity, regardless of means differences, to enjoy the panto. You can read more about the Access For All scheme here.
