Things to do at All Points East
While the music is the main event, All Points East has many great experiences. You're guaranteed a great day out, from the funfair to specially selected food stalls around the park.
Music lineup
There aren’t many day festivals as musically diverse as All Points East in the world.
It caters to all age groups and musical tastes, so you’re bound to have a blast no matter the day you go.
Despite being set in its borough’s largest park, the festival takes up only a fraction of the 213-acre space. There are usually at least four stages, so unlike others, you won’t be trekking for miles between sets.
Keep your eyes peeled for stage splits! With so many great artists on the lineup, they’re usually announced a few weeks before the event. Wander from the minimal techno of Richie Hawtin to the post-punk rock of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.
The East Stage
All Points East usually hosts several stages, including a North Stage and a West Stage, but the East Stage is the heart of the event. As the festival’s main stage, it always draws the biggest and most passionate crowds and is the place to be for each day’s climax.
Over the years, the East Stage has hosted memorable headline performances from Tame Impala, The Chemical Brothers and Gorillaz, some of the most eagerly anticipated summer shows each year.
The X-Stage
The BBC Radio 6 Music stage at All Points East is also known as the X-stage, owing to its four-legged structure, which supports a lighting and sound system. In previous years, artists as diverse as Idles, James Blake and Caribou have rocked the X-stage. Not to mention British club legends like Norman Jay MBE.
The DJ booth sits beneath a world-class speaker system, creating a unique, intimate outdoor arena that mimics a nightclub. Artists that need more space play on a stage outside-centre of the structure, but the immersive atmosphere remains the same.
Funfair
All Points East is more than just music. During the festival, Victoria Park is equipped with a funfair complete with rides, games and attractions. It’s an excellent option for those looking to break from the crowds, and nothing beats a nostalgia trip on the swing rides and carousels to get the adrenaline flowing.
Luno VIP Garden
Looking for a more exclusive experience this festival season? VIP access at All Points East includes a luxury bar, premium food options, upgraded seating and separate toilets.
Plus, you won’t miss a minute because the Luno Garden also includes early entry to the site via a dedicated VIP lane. For a few extra pounds, you’ll be allowed access to an exclusive standing pit in prime position to watch East Stage performances.
