January summary

Island Line will close completely, from Ryde Pier Head to Shanklin, from Friday 6 September to Sunday 6 October 2024, for vital maintenance. A rail replacement bus service will operate.

The line will reopen from Ryde Esplanade to Shanklin from Monday 7 October 2024. However, the line between Ryde Pier Head and Ryde Esplanade will remain closed until May 2025.

During the pier’s closure, a minibus shuttle service will operate between Ryde Pier Head and Ryde Esplanade.

Train services will operate every 30 minutes between Ryde Esplanade and Shanklin, maintaining the vital connection between the Island Line and ferry services to the mainland.
