You can meet the gardeners, talk to them about sustainability and their work with local food charities and buy their produce (you might even get the opportunity to pick and taste your own!).

Events for children

Chiswick House and Gardens offers various events for children, including an under-7s playground and free kid’s audio guides. It hosts seasonal sports camps and family-friendly open-air plays, including The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck and The Adventures of Doctor Dolittle.

Festivals and events

Chiswick House and Gardens makes use of its space, hosting annual events like Pub in the Park and Happy Place Festival.

Pub in the Park, created by TV chef Tom Kerridge, is the ultimate marriage of food and music. Each year brings new chefs, entertainers, and musical acts, such as Ainsley Harriot, Ed Gamble, and Craig David.

Happy Place Festival celebrates arts, culture and wellness. It features immersive workshops, talks, live podcasts, massage areas and sound healing sessions. Previous guests include Dawn O’Porter, Denise Van Outen and Jason Donovan.

There are festive events at Christmas, like the Christmas Duck Pond market, where you can buy artisanal gifts, and stunning light festivals and winter trails, including After Dark and Lightopia.

Duck Pond Market

Duck Pond Market also opens on the first Sunday of every month, from 10:00 to 16:00. Grab some street food and a hot drink and browse the various arts, crafts and homeware stalls.

Giffords Circus

Chiswick House and Gardens is the only London stop on the magical tour of Giffords Circus. Every year, acrobats, jugglers, musicians and dancers travel the UK, creating a carnival of skill and silliness wherever they go. It’s an unmissable event that’s fun for all the family.

Walkies & Waggietails dog training

Chiswick House and Gardens offers dog training for all skill levels, from basic puppy training to parkour fusion (aka urban dog agility, aka barkour). These classes are a great way to socialise puppies and keep dogs active.

Each 5-week course costs £150.

Food and drinks

There are various food and drink options at Chiswick House.

Chiswick House Café serves speciality coffee, homemade cakes and fresh sourdough pizzas. Chiswick House Kitchen Garden Shop has fresh produce and other seasonal goodies. If you visit on the first Sunday of the month, Duck Pond Market sells artisan goods and local produce.

Or, pack a picnic and pitch up on the lawn to enjoy lunch outside.

Chiswick House and Gardens accessibility

Wheelchairs are available at the main entrance help desk. The first floor of the House is accessed via a narrow spiral staircase, and there is no lift access. The staff can guide you to the external portico steps, which might be more manageable. There’s an accessible bathroom, and accessible parking can be requested.

Assistance dogs are welcome. Carers receive free entry. Audio tours and large-print guides are available.
