COMPETITION TIME
In support of the #saveourwildisles campaign we want to celebrate just how fantastic the local biodiversity is across our network. That’s why this June we are kicking off a summer photography competition to showcase this spectacular nature. We want you to share photos of your South Western Railway adventures, and you could be in with the chance to win prizes from the RSPB

Dates
Competition begins on 22 June 2023 and ends on 31 July 2023. Winners will be announced on the 4 August 2023.
Mechanic
We encourage people to share photos on Instagram with the #saveourwildisles. Everyone that uses that hashtag will be added into a spread sheet. Winners will be chosen by a judging team of sustainability champions passionate about wildlife.
Design
The competition will be launched as part of our save our wild isles campaign which we are supporting alongside RSPB.

Short Terms and Conditions: #saveourwildisles Photo Competition
These terms and conditions are subject to any other terms and conditions provided on this website.
1. The Competition
- a. The competition promoter is First MTR South Western Trains Limited trading as South Western Railway ("SWR", "we" or "us") a company established in the UK with a registered office address at 8th Floor, The Point, 37 North Wharf Road, London W2 1AF Registered in England and Wales, company number: 07900320.
- b. The title of the competition is ‘#saveourwildisles Photo Competition and the prize is to for two annual family membership to the RSPB and Five runner up wildlife starter kits for the garden
- c. The competition will run from 15:30 22 June 2023. (“Opening Date”) until 23:59 31 July 2023. (“Closing Date”). All entries must be submitted before the Closing Date and entries submitted after this time will be automatically disqualified.
- d. SWR reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the competition at any time.
2. Competition entry
a: To enter the competition individuals must complete the following actions:
- Follow our Instagram page @sw_railway
- Post a picture on our network of the wildlife you experience across our network, at our stations or through the window as you are travelling
- By submitting via the hashtag #saveourwildisles
- You are the sole author of each entry and that it is your original work
- You own the copyright and any other intellectual property rights
- You have the permission of those pictured in any imagery or videos (or, where the image shows any persons under 18, the consent of their parent or guardian)
- By entering the competition, you grant SWR a non-exclusive, irrevocable license to collate, reproduce, enlarge, publish or exhibit on any media. This may include, but is not limited to:

SWR News coverage of the competition.
b. Entry is free of charge and no payments are required to participate.
c. The competition is only open to those who are 18 years or over and who are residents of the UK. Proof of identity and age may be required.
d. The Company’s employees and their immediate families, the Company’s agents and anyone professionally connected with the prize draw are not eligible to take part.
e. The Company reserves the right to check the validity of any entry. Entries failing to comply with these rules may not be accepted.
f. If for any reason any aspect of the Promotion does not function correctly, whether by means of infection by computer virus, network failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any cause beyond the control of the Promoter that corrupts or affects the administration, integrity or fairness of the Promotion, then the Promoter may at its sole discretion cancel, modify or suspend the Promotion and/or invalidate affected entries.
g. Entrants may enter only once.
3. The Prize
a. The prize details are as follows:
- Two of the best images will receive an annual family membership to the RSPB
- Five runner ups receiving a wildlife starter kit for their garden.
b. All prizes are non-changeable, non-refundable & non-transferable.
c. Prize-winner management handled by South Western Railway
d. Winners must have access to a personal email account.
e. Winner should allow up to 30 days for their prize to be confirmed.
f. Once booked the prize cannot be amended or altered.
g. Winners under the age of 18, must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18.
h. Individual supplier terms and conditions apply.
4. Winner selection
a. The winner will be selected by a judging team of sustainability champions passionate about wildlife.
b. The winner will be notified by SWR via Instagram direct message within 15 days after the closing date. The winner will have 14 days to accept the prize before another winner is randomly selected. If the winner(s) doesn’t respond within the 14 days, the Company reserves the right to offer the prize to any other eligible entrant.
c. The winner will be published on the Instagram giveaway post.
5. Exclusion of liability
In so far as permitted by law, the Company shall not be responsible for and shall not cover nor insure any entrants and or the winner, and third parties from and against any and all actions, claims, proceedings, losses, liabilities, damages, penalties, fines, judgements, costs, charges and expenses of whatever kind and nature relating to the credit and prizes in any way.
6. General
a. If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Company may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.
b. The Company is compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR") and Data Protection Act and apart from fulfilment of the prize for the winner will not pass on your details to any third party without your prior consent. Further details can be found in the Company’s Privacy Policy.
c. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales, whose courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
